Setup & Maintenance

Thank you for your recent purchase!

This page will serve as a guide to help you get your new cold plunge system setup and we'll also go over some maintenance tips.

Setup

First let's start with downloading the chiller manual and becoming familiar with its functions. Click this link for the PDF

Next, let's start with the setup of the IceZen Tub and Chiller:

3 things to note that were missed in the video:

1. There should be a water flow arrow on top of the prefilter and that arrow should be pointing in the direction of the chiller.

2. When you fill your tub up, you should use filtered water if possible.

3. The chiller does give off condensation. We recommend placing it in an area that will allow for this runoff. Some users report more condensation runoff than others, but if your water level is depleting on it's own, it may be more than just condensation coming from the chiller.

Maintenance Suggestions

Your chiller comes with a metal mesh prefilter, main filter and an internal metal mesh filter. On top of the 3 filters, your chiller comes with a built-in Ozone generator.

Ozone has a disinfection effectiveness against bacteria and viruses compared to chlorination. In addition, the oxidizing properties can also reduce the concentration of iron, manganese, sulfur and reduce or eliminate taste and odor problems.

With such strong filtration properties, continuous water circulation and ozone generation already built in, we simply further recommend only using Hydrogen Peroxide to ensure cleanliness of the water. It is recommended that around 70-100 gallons of water should only have between 25PPM - 50PPM, so it doesn't take much Hydrogen Peroxide to reach that level.

You can find easy to use Hydrogen Peroxide test strips on Amazon to keep your levels in check.

Your water will need to be changed depending on your level of use. Some change it bi-weekly, while others change it monthly, it will be up to you when you feel it is necessary. We recommend that when you change the water, you scrub down the tub inside and out, scrub down the hoses, etc. This will help keep your system clean and prevent algae from growing.

In terms of the main filters, you'll receive (2) 20-Micron filters with the chiller. These should be replaced when they turn yellow/brown in appearance.

Furthermore, we recommend getting a tub cover and spa scrub brush/skimmer set to help maintain your system.
